I'm diving head first in to EE for the first time tomorrow with my students.
Initially to manage the students, I planned to have a world for each of my 5 class periods, with designated land for each student to build individually, relying on the honor system to not have anyone destroy another's work. This ends up being a problem, as I think students could only work on their projects if I am logged in to their specific world.
From what I see, the servers cannot run as "realms" for my students to work while the host is offline. As a fix for this, I'm thinking of having one world for my students, where classes of 20 or so will log in at different times (we would stay below the 30 user capacity). If I did this, I could leave my computer running as a host and the kids could drop in and out to work whenever they wanted (or so I think).
I wanted to know if there is a way I can designate a spawn point for my students when they enter the world. I could have a large section of map dedicated to each class, and have that bordered off from the others.
Ideally, I'd have each student spawning in the section of map I've dedicated to their class. They could interact with classmates, but not between classes.
Any other related tips or experience for separating students is very appreciated. I don't want to have kids working in their own worlds, as my primary goal for using EE is the social aspect for them right now.
