While we hope that no bugs slip through into the products we ship, we are a team of humans and inevitably we won’t be able to catch all issues. Here is a list of what we know is out there:
Current Issues (last updated 01/28/2019)
Minecraft: Education Edition Game Client
Version mismatch
- Version listings: PC (1.7.1), Mac (1.7.1), iPad (1.7.3)
- Workaround: None needed, should work without issues
- Status: This is a known issue, use the workaround
Agent placing water causes crash
- Version impacted: PC (1.7.1), Mac (1.7.1), iPad (1.7.3)
- Workaround: None at this time
- Status: This is a known issue, we are working on a fix
Failed Multiplayer connection
- Versions impacted: PC Windows 10 1607
- Workaround: Upgrade from Windows 10 1607
- Status: This is a known issue, use the workaround
Agent detect up/down does not work correctly with half blocks
- Versions Impacted: PC, Mac, iPad
- Workaround: None at this time
- Status: This is a known issue and we are actively working to implement a solution
Exporting portfolio, clicking links on NPCs (and any change of focus to the game) will disconnect users connected to that session multiplayer **iPad-only**
- Versions Impacted: iPad
- Workaround: None at this time
- Status: This is a known issue and we are actively working to implement a solution
No Music in iPad version
- Versions Impacted: iPad
- Workaround: None at this time
- Status: This is a known issue and we are actively working to implement a solution
Does not install on Windows 10 version 1511 or earlier
- Versions Impacted: PC
- Workaround: None at this time
- Status: Our next release in 2019 will work with all versions of Windows
Is now in-game (Code Builder) with Minecraft: Education Edition version 1.7.1
- Versions Impacted: PC, Mac, iPad
- Workaround: Just press "C" no separate app is needed
- Status: The companion app will no longer be needed, but is still compatible with Bedrock and M:EE version 1.4 or lower
Not Available on iPad
- Versions Impacted: iPad devices
- Workaround: While it will not open as an app on your iPad, you can use Classroom Mode on PC or Mac to connect to a world hosted on iPad
- Status: This is a known issue and we are actively working to implement a solution
Teachers can only open one instance of Classroom Mode on macOS
- Version Impacted: All versions, macOS only.
- Workaround: After your first instance of CM is opened, go to Applications > Utilities > Terminal In that window, type: open -n -a “Classroom Mode for Minecraft”.
- Status: This issue is set to be fixed in the next release.
